
LLB (Hons)
The LLB helps you to develop a critical awareness of the common law legal tradition and to apply analytical and problem-solving skills in a range of legal and non-legal settings. In most jurisdictions you need to undertake an additional professional practice course to learn all the practical skills to qualify to work as a solicitor or barrister. In Pakistan graduating with the University of London degree qualifies you for the Bar Council’s Entry Test (LGAT) and HEC’s Test (SEE) which are essential to get a license to practice in Pakistan. The degree can be completed in 3, and a maximum of 6 years.
First year compulsory modules:
- Contract
- Criminal
- Public
- LSM (legal system and method)
Second year compulsory modules:
- Tort
- Property*
- EU*
AND one optional module from Administrative or Commercial or IPHR
Third year compulsory modules:
- Jurisprudence
- Trusts*
- AND two optional modules chosen from Islamic, or evidence, or Conflict of laws, or Dissertation, or Company, or PIL
*Students wanting to obtain an Honors degree are require to opt for the subject
Eligibility criteria:
- O/A levels with non-overlapping subjects;
- O levels – Three subjects at O level with at least grade C;
- and two passes in A levels (non overlapping subjects)
- minimum 17 years old by 1 November;
